Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an e-mail message is sent from one e-mail, but to seem as being sent from another, ordinarily with the purpose to fraud the recipient someway. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, an exclusive record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record features all of the e-mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and in case the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted destination. If, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the specified domain, the message will not be sent and it will be discarded. In case you employ this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

If you host your domain names in a shared hosting account with us and we handle the e-mails for them, you will be able to activate SPF protection for any of them with a few clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The service can be found in a section of its own where you will be able to view which domains are already secured. For those that aren't, you can enable the SPF protection solution and manage various things in the process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are allowed to send messages from your email addresses, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the servers, and to create a rule that emails can be sent only if your domain names have our MX records. The aforementioned solution is the most secure one, but you can use it in the event that we manage the email addresses for your domains and you are not using some other email supplier. The newly created records will propagate within 24 hours and nobody will be able to forge the FROM field in an email with your e-mail addresses.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia website hosting Control Panel, which comes with our Linux semi-dedicated hosting, provides you with an extremely intuitive interface to enable the SPF security service for every domain that you host in your new account. Just a few clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia will be enough for that and you'll only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be allowed to send out messages from your emails. When the e-mail messages are handled on our end and not by some other provider, you are able to increase the protection level even further and enable an option for all the outgoing e-mails to be sent only if your domain names include our MX records. This option gives you more control and it will eliminate any chance of anybody faking your email addresses with the purpose of spamming and scamming people. It is not applicable in case just your site is on our outstanding cloud hosting platform, while your emails are handled by a different service provider. If you are not sure what options to pick, our technical support crew will assist you 24/7.
